You know how you sometimes get an off brand because it's inexpensive, but then nobody likes it? I thought this would be a good place to post the off-brand items you actually like.

With so many people under-employed or unemployed in the area, so many people upside down on mortgages, so many tending to others and trying to save up money to help... well, I decided we could use a shared blog where people can put special tricks and tips on eating incredibly cheaply and saving money on groceries. This will be open to any suggestions, tips, or comments about saving money on food.

There's room here to discuss fast-food dollar items, and Sarah Bristol's tip that 7-11 has great subs cheaper than Subway. We could post a video to Aunt Clara's Depression Cooking.  Beans and cornbread anyone? Enjoy!
